Print on klaf · Jerusalem

Your image. Printed on real parchment.

Send us a file. We check it, we quote it, and we print it on genuine klaf. A designer can retouch, enrich or redraw it first.

Nous imprimons uniquement des sujets juifs, sur du klaf véritable, et chaque projet reçoit un devis détaillé.

Choose a photo or a file: we lay it on a photograph of real, bare klaf from the studio, in a second. Then drag the line to compare.

Jewish subjects only. Printing on klaf is never used for a mezuzah or a Sefer Torah, which must be written by hand by a qualified sofer. Everything we print is stated as printed.

02 · How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

01

You send the file

Through the form on this page, with a line about what it is. Formats and minimum resolution are listed below.

02

We check it

Two checks: does the subject pass the charter, and is the file good enough to print at the size you want. If it is not, we say what would fix it.

03

You get a quote

Within two working days: printing, any design work you asked for, the klaf itself, finishing and shipping — itemised, so you can drop a line if you want to.

04

We print and ship

A proof for approval on anything unusual, then printing, finishing and packing.

Start with your file You only commit once the quote is in your hands.

03 · The design option

If the file is not ready, we make it ready.

Most files that arrive are not ready to print at size. Choose a level in the form — or ask us, and we will tell you what yours needs. Each level is quoted with your file.

  1. Level 0

    None

Your file is already good. We print it as it is.

  2. Level 1

    Retouch

Cleaning, straightening, cropping, colour balance. What you sent, printable.

  3. Level 2

    Enhance

Composition reworked, background rebuilt, Hebrew text or ornament added, laid out for the parchment format.

  4. Level 3

    Redraw

The image is drawn again by our designer, from your file as a reference. You approve a sketch before it is finished.

04 · Your file, your size

What makes a file printable.

A515 × 21 cmA shelf, a desk, a gift that travels in a case.
A421 × 30 cmThe usual choice for a blessing at an entrance.
A330 × 42 cmA wall piece. Hand-cut edge on request.

Finishing. Straight or hand-cut deckled edge, plexiglass mounting, framing. Another size? Say so in the form. Every format is quoted with the file, because the parchment and the finishing move the figure more than the printing does.

05 · Your request

Send your image.

Three screens, on this page: your file, the design work, the run. You receive an itemised quote within two working days.

  3. The run

Your file.

Send the largest version you have. JPEG, PNG, TIFF or PDF, ideally 300 dpi at the size you want to print. Jewish subjects only — never for a mezuzah or a Sefer Torah.

    06 · Questions

    Technical, and halakhic.

Can I supply my own parchment?

Yes, if it is suitable for the press. Tell us in the form and we will confirm before you send anything — the studio needs to see the thickness and the preparation first.

    Will the ink last?

On parchment, kept out of direct sunlight and away from damp, yes. Every piece leaves with handling instructions. We do not claim archival permanence we have not tested.

Can you print a mezuzah or a Sefer Torah?

No, and we will not. Those must be written by hand by a qualified sofer, with intent. It is stated on this page, in the charter and on every quote.

Why do you refuse non-Jewish subjects?

Because of what the material is. Klaf is prepared for sacred writing, and this is a Jewish art studio. Printing a holiday photograph on it would be out of keeping with both.

I want several copies to resell. Is that possible?

Yes. Put the quantity in the form and say it is for resale, and the quote comes back with a decreasing rate and the terms. We do not need to know what kind of business you are — only what you want to do.

    How long does it take?

The quote comes back within two working days. Printing depends on the run and the finishing; the lead time is in the quote before you commit.
